K-Law Consulting And The UC Irvine (Korea Law Center) Will Develop Collaborative Partnership

On May 26th, 2022, the “Collaboration Agreement” between K-Law Consulting and the University of California, Irvine Campus (“UC Irvine”) was successfully executed.

As part of the agreement, Jinhee Lee, principal of K-Law Consulting and Sung Eun Kim, professor at UC Irvine School of Law and director of Korea Law Center, agreed to collaborate on research. Under professor Sung Eun Kim’s supervision, the visiting scholar from UC Irvine School of Law Korea Law Center will work closely with K-Law Consulting on research collaboration, the purpose of which is researching Korean legal information necessary for cross-border transactions and/or disputes between the U.S. and Korea that require resolutions related to Korean law, and performing a comparative study of U.S. law and Korean law on topics that frequently arise in both jurisdictions.

Also, the nature of the research collaboration is to investigate and study actual cases, relevant regulations, and practices of cross-border transactions and/or disputes between the U.S. and Korea to address issues caused by conflicts between the U.S. law and Korean law as well as ambiguity in their interpretation and application.

Through this research collaboration, hopefully many visiting scholars from UC Irvine School of Law Korea Law Center can have opportunities to build abundant practical experience regarding Korean law and cross-border transactions and disputes between the U.S. and Korea at K-Law Consulting.
